Figuring Things Out

Hey guys,
I feel really bad for doing this again, but I feel like it is necessary that I take a break from blogging...not that long...but a few days, to research and figure out exactly how to work things. I really want to put out the best posts that I can, and I have been, however I know I can do way better. There will definitely be a 4th of July post...but it will probably come out a little later than I want because I want to make it better. That is all I have right now...see you guys later!

West Coast Adventure Travel Log: Yosemite National Park and LosAngeles, California

Hey guys,
So on our way from San Francisco, California (I wanna go back so bad!!!) to Los Angeles, California, we stopped and spent a night in a cabin in Yosemite National Park. I really enjoyed this experience because there is no electricity and you really get a chance to appreciate nature. One of the things I loved was that you could see so many stars and you could see them in a way that you do not normally see them. We also had s'mores!!! However, we left early the next morning because, being from Texas we are not used to the altitude and oxygen deprivation.
When we got to Los Angeles, California, It was not really what I expected at all. It was really sketchy and unless you were rich or had a lot of money you could not really shop anywhere. The one thing we did that I really enjoyed was the Warner Brothers Studio Tour. I got to see where a lot of my favorite shows and movies were filmed and that was really cool to me.

West Coast Adventure Travel Log: San Francisco, California

I'm Hey guys,
So the next big stop on the West Coast Adventure of 2015 was San Francisco, California! It was by far my favorite city to visit and I have come up with a few reasons why:
  1. It had the feeling of New York City, but it was not as crowded and the people were much nicer
  2. It had a lot of character and all of the houses looked different from one another
  3. There was a lot of art that would look like it was graffiti but it wasn't and I enjoyed that
  4. I found at least two stores that only sold socks and that was like heaven to me. I bought four pairs of socks in San Francisco alone!
  5. I fell in love with Union Square
  6. All in all I want to move there.
One of the coolest things to mention about my experience in San Francisco is Alcatraz. I actually visited Alcatraz on the anniversary of the '62 escape so I was able to take a tour where they specifically talked about the escapes and I thought that was really cool. I was not actually able to see the Golden Gate Bridge while I was there because it was so cloudy but I did walk the bridge.

When I'm gone.~Anna Kendrick

West Coast Adventure Travel Log: Seattle Washington

Hey people,
So the next stop on my trip was Seattle, Washington and it was pretty cool. Unfortunately because I put off writing the blog, I don't have a million things to say about it but I will fill you guys in as much as I can on the coolest parts of the time I spent there!
The first day was pretty neat because we went to all the really famous and tourist-type places. The first thing we did, and if your smart you would too, is of course go to the original Starbucks! Then we went to the EMP museum which was freaking awesome if you are into music and movies like I am...I saw Star Wars costumes!!! Then we went to lunch at the Space Needle which was really neat because you could see the entirety of the skyline of Seattle. The rest of the day was spent wandering throughout the art of Seattle and the last thing we did that day was ride the great wheel.
Day 2 in Seattle was the more relaxed and wandering day. We took two boat tours, one of which was actually a bus tour that turned into a boat tour!!! We also went to Pike's Place which was cool except for the fact that I was terrified of being pick pocketed. We also went to the aquarium and saw an Octopus!!!! P.S. I love octopi <3 OH!!! And the like grossest, but in my twisted mind, coolest thing was the gum wall!!
The thing I probably loved the most about Seattle was all the art that it had... It made it feel fun and it was so pretty. I am so sorry I got behind but I kind of got caught up in vacation, as I should, but I am catching up now!!!

And I sure would like some sweet company...~ Anna Kendrick

West Coast Adventure Travel Log: Oregon and Redwoods, California

Hey guys,
Oregon was filled with lots of hikes and nature sight seeing. Our hikes included Mt. St. Helen's, Crater Lake, and the coast! It was all very exciting and beautiful...but the best part of Oregon was Astoria. For those of you who don't know, Astoria is the location that the Goonies was filmed. I love the Goonies and was very enthusiastic to discover that I was in Astoria one week after the anniversary of the Goonies. So I got to see the house that the main character lived in, haystack rock, as well as a museum with many props and things from the original movie!

From Oregon, we traveled to the Redwood forest in northern California which was absolutely mind-blowing. It sort of came out of nowhere and the trees were so tall and so big around it blew my mind. That is all for now...next stop San Francisco, California!!!

And I'm leaving tomorrow, what do you say? ~ Anna Kendrick

West Coast Adventure Travel Log: Vancouver, British Columbia

What's up guys,
The past two days I have been in Vancouver, British Columbia and it has been wonderful! One of my favorite ways to spend vacation and discover new places is to just walk around and not necessarily have a plan. And that is exactly what I did.
The first day I spent by just walking around Vancouver and Granville Island. We discovered a lot of really cool shops and just admired a very beautiful city. One of the highlights of the day was dinner. Me and my mother went to dinner at a tapas restaurant called The Sardine Can and it was absolutely fantastic we ate a total of six tapas and that were all delicious.
The next day we spent wandering around Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. It was a gorgeous walking and educational experience about the nature of Canada. Something I realized today was the fact that your appreciation of nature grows with your age. I also got some fudge...and who doesn't love fudge! Another highlight of today was breakfast at Tim Horton's. I love donuts and I cannot get Tim Horton's where I live. In addition Tim Horton's is native to Canada so that was really cool. Now off to Seattle, Washington. See you guys later!

Two bottles of whiskey for the way. ~Anna Kendrick

West Coast Adventure Travel Log

Hey weirdos (i switched it up a bit),
As you may or may not know, for the next two weeks i am taking a trip with my mother down the west coaststarting in Vancouver, British Columbia and ending in Los Angeles, California. Unfortunatly, I did not post yesterday, but i will catch you guys up!
A lot of preparation was made for this trip starting with the itinerary. We are going to visit a total of  8 cities including: Vancouver, British Columbia; Seattle, Washington; Portland, Oregon; Medford, Oregon; Eureka, California; San Francisco, California; Yosemite; and Los Angeles, California. We are using literally every type of transportation available from flying in planes to riding ferry boats. So it is bound to be a great trip.
Next on the list of preparation is packing. When I first learned about this trip, I wanted to be somewhat fashionable so I started shopping...and shopping...and shopping some more. And then, it turns out to be cold...and instead of wearing shorts and really cute tank tops, I am wearing jeans and long sleeve shirts. But that is okay because I found a way for it to work. Other than clothing I needed to bring other things because how else am I supposed to blog and keep you guys updated! I ended up packing four essential things that I think are important for everyone who wants to blog a trip: an iPad or laptop ( my laptop is for school and they take it away every summer so I have to blog from my iPad), your phone if that is how you take pictures and notes throughout the day, a camera of some sort ( YOU GUYS I FINALLY GOT A POLAROID CAMERA), and a scrapbook to keep a more personal log of your trip. Obviously I packed some other things to, but those are the most important.
Moving on to what happened yesterday. Not much actually happened, but at the same time I have a lot to talk about. The flight to Vancouver was at 9:00 pm central time and in my mind that meant grab a snack for the plane and then fall asleep for 5 hours. That was almost impossible to do. We did get a smoothie for a snack, but falling asleep on that plane was near impossible. It took us forever to get on out of the terminal and then the plane seats were as far from comfortable as you could get. We did eventually make it and took a cab to our hotel. The hotel beds were 1 million times more comfortable than the plane seats and thanks to the time change we still woke up at a reasonable time.

So that was day 1 posted a day late ( so sorry but you should know how I am) I am also creating a page for this so you can either read as I post day by day or you can go to the page and read in order from beginning to end! That is all for now.., see you weirdos later!

I got my ticket for the long way round! ~Anna Kendrick

Pitch Perfect 2

Hey guys,
I am in love with this movie and I have not stopped thinking about it since I saw it last. This is going to be similar to the last post where I just start talking about Pitch Perfect 2 and do not stop until I am done.
Let me give you some background information about Pitch Perfect and me first. When the first movie came out, I did not get to see it in the theater. I actually had to wait until it came out on DVD and then even longer. I first saw Pitch Perfect on Christmas of that year. I then continued to watch that movie constantly for I can’t even remember how long. Needless to say, I was determined to see the second movie in theaters as soon as possible!
I almost was not going to make it though. The weekend Pitch Perfect 2 came out I was supposed to be going out of town. However, through much convincing of my parents, I was able to go to the midnight premiere and I absolutely think it was worth it. Honestly I think it was better than the first movie by a lot because it had already developed all the characters and relationships, it was just a matter of creating a storyline this time around. The one thing I did miss was the trailers had some jokes that the movie did not and I really wanted to hear them. Other than that it was really good. I especially loved the Bumper and Fat Amy relationship development.
Guys, I really do apologize for the lack of posting. It has been hectic, but this is the last week of school so hopefully (and I mean HOPEFULLY) I will start updating more often. Other than that, see you guys later! Sorry again for not posting.

Avengers: Age of Ultron

Hey guys,
Oh my goodness gracious I loved the new Avengers movie. I am not even really going to structure this blog because I have so much to ramble about.
First off, I saw the movie on Friday and I went to a midnight showing that night, but that is not the cool part. The cool part is that I saw this movie in DBOX, which is basically a seat that is synced with the film to give you a live action experience. Basically, every time there was an explosion or the Hulk smashed, my seat shook. It was really cool and I really enjoyed it.
Now I have to tell you what I wore. I had been planning on a Captain America themed outfit, however, that was slightly altered. What I ended up wearing was a t-shirt that I found with not only the avengers you normally find on t-shirts, but also it had Black Widow and Hawkeye and I nearly screamed I was so excited. I just wore normal jean shorts but then I found probably the best thing ever from Wal-Mart. Captain America high socks that had the little wings from his helmet on them.

So, I get to this theater and naturally, I grabbed a coffee because it was really late at night and they had Starbucks in their theater and then headed to my seat. The movie itself was absolutely hands down fantastic. I especially loved the way the movie showed a more human side of all of the avengers. It showed a relationship between Black Widow and Hulk as well as Hawkeye’s family. I liked that because the movie was not just about defeating the bad guy, it was about figuring out who they were in comparison.

The end is what really through me off. If you are a true Marvel fan, you know that you have to stay through all of the credits no matter how long they are. Well this always makes me laugh, because I love to watch all the normal movie goers walk out and miss the clips that Marvel gives to hint for the next movie. However this time, instead of the normal two they show, they only showed one. I was a little angry, however, I am happy with what I get.
I went again last weekend because I saw this for the first time two weeks ago now and it is still as amazing as the first. One thing I noticed though was that I caught more of the little things the second time around than the first.
So that was my adventure. I apologize that it showed up so late, I had a wedding last weekend and it was a very buys last two weeks, so I have been really tired. However, I have another project announcement coming very soon and I am going to the premiere of  Pitch Perfect 2 tonight so that will be up this weekend (I hope!). Enjoy the rest of your week and see you guys later!

Big Projects in the Works

Hey guys,
Today’s post is going to be really short and I apologize for that because I know I did not have anything last weekend but I wanted to let you in on a few projects that I am thinking of that are the reason that I have not been around. I appreciate that you guys are sticking around and I hope that you are still going to hang around while I organize and prepare a few really spectacular stories for you.
The first story that is in the works is a fashion post. This will be like the pre-post to a swarm of posts that will be going up the first two weeks of July when I will be on a road trip down the west coast. (YAAAY!!!) Currently I am shopping for many new items of clothing that will be put into a series of outfits and I wanted to show you my ideas. My plan though, was to post the outfits after California and maybe have a video? after that. This would create for you guys a new form of entertainment as well as a new experience for myself.
On top of that, I will also be posting a short but sweet post for you guys over my summer playlist. I am going to be creating it for my trip, but it will be a wide variety of good summer songs that I love as well as some other songs that are just good to have fun and dance to. I might end up combining this list with the fashion post, but like I said, nothing is set in stone yet.
The west coast trip is the next story on the list and it is going to be an experiment, because I believe I am going to make it a video. On the same topic I have an idea for daily videos that could be cool, but I still do not for sure what I want to do. It might just be me in my hotel room talking for two weeks. We shall see.
So anyways, that is what is in the works for the upcoming months. This weekend there will be two posts for sure and maybe one more but we will have to see. I hope you guys had a great weekend. I have a really busy week coming up this week so I won’t be posting probably until the weekend. See you guys later!

Crossfit

Hey guys,
Oh my god! Yet another insight into my life…I love to be athletic. As I told you guys before, I am in high school and one thing that I really love to do is sports. The sports that I participate in are Cross Country and Track and I’m pretty average. Actually, if I am being honest, I almost always am at the back of the pack. However, I do love to do it. Well, this year I decided that in hopes of getting better, I would start Crossfit. Oh my goodness! It is hard and I am sore and it is amazing. I really do recommend it if you want to get stronger or simply if you want to exercise, but you have to commit. It is a little pricy, but in my opinion it is worth it. That is really all I wanted to say so see you later!

Spring Cleaning

Hey guys,
I know I am a little late to join the party that is spring cleaning, but I had a revelation on Wednesday. So, a little info on yours truly...I am a sophomore in high school. Well, it was Wednesday and it was one of those days where everything was done and I got bored, so I started cleaning out my binder...then I moved to my computer bag...and I got to thinking. Why not just do everything. So, then I said "Hey, I don't have a blog for this week yet”.... and guess what? Here it is!!! Now, I am not just going to tell you about my spring-cleaning and leave you. I thought I would give you some tips!

1. Get rid of all papers that have no meaning to you and are not important for upcoming and current events.
This one is more for students, but it could work for adults to. I like to separate papers into three piles: don't need, graded, and current. Normally I throw away the don't need papers, keep the stack of graded papers somewhere I know I can find them, and organize the current papers back into my binder according to subject.

2.  Use different mason jars to organize your desk.
I actually did not come up with this one on my own...My mom actually did this for me, but I am in love with it because it saves so much time from homework. I used to have to dig in a pencil bag to find a highlighter, now it takes me two seconds.

3. Go through your closet and anything you have not worn in the past month/year (with the exception of dresses and formal clothing) get rid of it!
I can't even tell you how many shirts have sat in my closet for countless months or even years, not being touched. I am one of the worst people. Because I continually say that I will clean out my closet, but I never do.

4. Organize your bookshelves.
I have an overwhelming amount of books that I probably have not touched for years...there has just been a stack growing in my room. What I ended up doing was creating categories: book series that are completely finished, book series I have not finished, book series I started and then finished on my nook, books for school reports, and finally books I have to finish or have not read yet.

5. Put your shoes in your shoe rack.
I also really struggle with this one. I change shoes at least twice a day so I often don't think anything of it and throw them on the floor. Well, let me be the first to tell you ladies. When you clean up a pile of shoes, it is a lot like cleaning out your purse. You have no clue what you will find.

6. Make your bed.
Honestly, it just looks neater and speaking from personal experience, it just looks neater.

7. Clean out your shower and your bathroom.
My main problem with this is hair in my shower and putting the things in my bathroom away.

Unfortunately I will not be at home this weekend to do my spring-cleaning, but I can promise you guys I will be doing my it as soon as possible. See you later!

New Name, New Style

Hey guys,
I figured it out. First thing I noticed is that I use the word “so” in literally everything, therefor I am going to switch that up. Next thing is the title of this blog is going to change. It is now going to be called Random Thoughts and that way I can post whatever the heck I want and not have to create an entirely new blog. There is going to be at least one more post this weekend that I am really going to introduce myself to you and maybe that will start things off better. Let’s try this out, shall we? See you later!

My Dilemmas

Hey guys,
So, I have  a few dilemmas that I would like to share with you regarding this blog.
1.     I don’t think my writing is that great. I need to figure out a better way to write posts that actually would keep you guys interested. Maybe I change the basis for the blog…I don’t know I will have to think of something. What if I pitched ideas on this blog and then had another one that I actually did things on…like I said I’m just brainstorming
2.     Pictures. So, if it is not already obvious…I get most of my pictures off of the Internet. There are two main reasons for that.
a.     Most of the pictures I want to post are just basic and non personal pictures
b.     I am not quite satisfied with my camera skills. I mean every once in a while I will get a photo I really like, but that is very rare.

3.     Time. I know most of you are looking at that and saying you should have thought of that before you started the blog in the first place but you have to understand something. It took me a month after having the idea of a blog and coming up with the first two posts to actually create anything. Since then, I have been busy with sports and homework and just plain writers block. Part of that goes back to the fact that I think I need to open the blog up to more things than just entertainment
Those are just a few of the things I am struggling with…of course that does not mean I am going to stop blogging, I just might move some things around more. That is all I have for you guys today. Look for some changes and see you guys later!

I’m dying to live. Something’s gotta give. ~All Time Low

The Royals TV Show Review

Hey guys,
So I discovered this TV show actually, the day it premiered. I really enjoy it and if you like drama, love stories, and basically just other families with bigger issues than yours, you will like it too.

              Characters
Queen Helena: So what I have figured out about her is she is just a cold hard witch. When her son dies, she doesn’t appear to give a care. All she really cares about is how the family looks and she never really shows any concern for how her children feel. She does not like that Liam is dating Ophelia and she actually calls in his ex-girlfriend to hit on him. Then with Eleanor, she regulates her social media and gloats about how much better she is then her.
Eleanor: I have not figured Eleanor out yet. She seems to be a good person when she supports Liam and Ophelia, but at the same time she has gotten herself involved in some pretty heavy stuff. Jasper is blackmailing her, she is a drug addict, and she often tries to sabotage her mother’s events. In her defense however, she seems to be one of the only ones who actually is grieving over the death of her brother. So I still need to figure her out.
Jasper: So, I think that Jasper is just trying to protect his image as a Brit, but he goes about it by blackmail and he has a significant disadvantage when he goes to blackmail Eleanor. However, I do not think that that is all there is to Jasper. I think there is a bigger story that has not been revealed yet.
Liam: First off, I have to say that the actor that plays Liam also plays Peter in Chronicles of Narnia and that made me so happy to find out. But anyways, Liam is one of my favorite characters because he doesn’t really care about the fact that he is a royal and he does not really want to be a royal. He is slowly falling in love with Ophelia and he has even said that he does not want the crown. So I like him.
Ophelia: Ophelia is interesting. I think that she brings in a little bit of reality into the family. She is introducing Liam to how the normal people live their lives and she has also befriended Eleanor. Other than that, I don’t really know about her or what her end game is.
Gemma: I don’t like Gemma at all. Her sole purpose in this show is to hit on Liam, but I have a suspicion that her and Jasper are going to end up together somehow. They both are going after two of the royals that are clearly not interested and both of them kind of seem like they would work well together.

So, I kind of lied. I decided to just spam you guys all weekend to make up for me not being around very much the past couple of weeks. Umm…I think the next one I am going to do is going to be a catch up on what I have been into recently. But, I have no clue if it will be up almost immediately or what. See you later!

Red Queen Book Review

Red Queen Book Review
Hey guys,
So I read the book and I liked it! I truly and honestly found it very interesting. So for those of you who have not read it yet, I will give you a summary and then I want you to get off of here and go read it and then come back!
            Summary
Red Queen is a book by Victoria Aveyard. It is so good and I highly recommend it. Basically, the book is set in the future and it is separated by the color of your blood. So the Red bloods are just normal humans and they are under the rule of the Silver bloods that are people with special powers. Mare is a girl of Red blood and she ends up getting wrapped up in the Silver world and she goes on a very interesting adventure of trust and honesty. So go read it and then come back and see the rest.

             Characters
Mare: Mare is very interesting in my perspective. She is very smart, but at the same time she can be very clueless. For a majority of the book, she is trying to stay ahead of the whole game. She thinks that she is smart by siding with Maven over Cal, but in the end, she just ends up making the worst decision and figures out that she should have been siding with Cal. I mean, I figured out about halfway through the book that Maven was going to be the person she shouldn’t trust, but even when she found out, she was so surprised. So yeah, she was interesting to me.

Evangeline and the Queen: I don’t really have much to say about Evangeline and the Queen. I mean, the whole time they were pretty much the same. They did not like Mare from the start and they did not like her up until the very end.
Maven: He ticked me off. I mean, I figured it out about halfway through that he was lying to Mare, but it still ticked me off. I mean he seemed to actually care about her and she obviously trusted him and then he just betrayed her. But his whole reason for betraying her made sense. He was the younger brother that did not get a choice on who he got to marry and had to live in his brother’s shadow. And that never ends well.
Cal: Cal confused me. I could definitely tell from the beginning that he cared about Mare, but he just did not show it very much and Mare did not show her love for him very much, but in the end they kind of fell in love and I just don’t understand that whole love story.
              Plot
I kind of really liked the plot of the entire thing.  A society is divided by the color of their  blood, and then out of the blue, one of the red bloods has powers and switches the whole game. However, the game is always switching and everybody has to fend for themselves to figure it out.

I’m so sorry guys, I just got busy, and then I had writer’s block, but I am going to be posting a lot this weekend to hopefully catch up with the game. I think I am going to post a review of the first few episodes of The Royals and then probably update you guys on my recent entertainment obsessions. I might also do a few other things if I can think of them. See you probably tomorrow!

I will never submit again. I will never stop fighting. ~Mare

My Story

Hey guys,
So I just wanted to give you an overview of my personal connections to music, movies, and books. I believe that a person’s likes and dislikes in music, movies, and books tell a lot about their personality. So here is my story!
              Music
I have always been deeply attached to music and pretty much anything involved with music. I have been going to concerts from a very young age so I always was around music. So when I personally started listening to my own music and having my own opinions on music I originally listened to a lot of country music, but as time went on, it evolved into pop, and then in the past two years, I have started to listen to more rock and alternative music. Currently, I am really into bands like Green Day, Blink 182, and All Time Low.
                                                               Movies/TV Shows
My love for movies probably came into being on the weekends as a child. I did not get to watch much television during the week when I was growing up so on the weekends, my parents would let me watch a movie in the morning. Now, I am an absolute movie junkie. I love watching movies and I will rewatch almost any movie multiple times. Particularly, I love marvel movies. The two marvel movies that I personally love are Guardians of the Galaxy, the Captain America movies and of course the Avenger’s movies.
Books
So, unlike with movies and music, I was not huge on books from an early age. I mean, yes I was read bedtime stories, but I did not start actually reading for my own pleasure and enjoyment until around the time I got to fifth grade. And even now, I tend to have trouble getting interested in a book, but I am better now than I used to be. Some of my favorite books/series are the Percy Jackson series, the Hunger Games Trilogy, Divergent Trilogy, and basically just dystopian and science fiction books. Currently I am reading a book called Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. And I assure you, when I finish it I will post my review!

So there you go. Hopefully, I did a good job of introducing myself. The next post will probably be a book review, but it depends on how long it takes for me to read the book. I was thinking that I would post every Sunday and that way you would have something to read on your dull Monday morning. Tell me what you guys think and I want you to know that I am always open to suggestions and comments! See you next week!

I am a champion and your gonna hear me roar!~Katy Perry

Introduction

Hey guys,
So what I want to do with this blog is I want to give you guy’s opinions, reviews, and suggestions about different music, movies/TV shows, and books as well as walking you through my own personal interests. I might throw in some random stuff too. However, it is important that you know that this is my first time blogging, so it is a learning experience for me and it will take me some time to figure out exactly what I am doing. But, I learn fast so hopefully, by about the third or fourth blog, I will know what I am doing a little better. So here goes nothing!
