Red Queen Book Review
Hey guys,
So I read the book and I liked it! I truly and honestly
found it very interesting. So for those of you who have not read it yet, I will
give you a summary and then I want you to get off of here and go read it and
then come back!
Summary
Red Queen is a book by Victoria
Aveyard. It is so good and I highly recommend it. Basically, the book is set in
the future and it is separated by the color of your blood. So the Red bloods
are just normal humans and they are under the rule of the Silver bloods that
are people with special powers. Mare is a girl of Red blood and she ends up
getting wrapped up in the Silver world and she goes on a very interesting
adventure of trust and honesty. So go read it and then come back and see the
rest.
Mare:
Mare is very interesting in my perspective. She is very smart, but at the same
time she can be very clueless. For a majority of the book, she is trying to
stay ahead of the whole game. She thinks that she is smart by siding with Maven
over Cal, but in the end, she just ends up making the worst decision and
figures out that she should have been siding with Cal. I mean, I figured out
about halfway through the book that Maven was going to be the person she
shouldn’t trust, but even when she found out, she was so surprised. So yeah,
she was interesting to me.
Evangeline
and the Queen: I don’t really have much to say about Evangeline and the
Queen. I mean, the whole time they were pretty much the same. They did not like
Mare from the start and they did not like her up until the very end.
Maven:
He ticked me off. I mean, I figured it out about halfway through that he was
lying to Mare, but it still ticked me off. I mean he seemed to actually care
about her and she obviously trusted him and then he just betrayed her. But his
whole reason for betraying her made sense. He was the younger brother that did
not get a choice on who he got to marry and had to live in his brother’s
shadow. And that never ends well.
Cal:
Cal confused me. I could definitely tell from the beginning that he cared about
Mare, but he just did not show it very much and Mare did not show her love for
him very much, but in the end they kind of fell in love and I just don’t
understand that whole love story.
Plot
I kind of really liked the plot of
the entire thing. A society is divided
by the color of their blood, and then out of the blue, one of the red bloods
has powers and switches the whole game. However, the game is always switching
and everybody has to fend for themselves to figure it out.
I’m so sorry guys, I just got busy, and then I had writer’s
block, but I am going to be posting a lot this weekend to hopefully catch up
with the game. I think I am going to post a review of the first few episodes of
The Royals and then probably update you guys on my recent entertainment
obsessions. I might also do a few other things if I can think of them. See you
probably tomorrow!
I will never
submit again. I will never stop fighting. ~Mare
