Figuring Things Out

Hey guys,
I feel really bad for doing this again, but I feel like it is necessary that I take a break from blogging...not that long...but a few days, to research and figure out exactly how to work things. I really want to put out the best posts that I can, and I have been, however I know I can do way better. There will definitely be a 4th of July post...but it will probably come out a little later than I want because I want to make it better. That is all I have right now...see you guys later!

West Coast Adventure Travel Log: Yosemite National Park and LosAngeles, California

Hey guys,
So on our way from San Francisco, California (I wanna go back so bad!!!) to Los Angeles, California, we stopped and spent a night in a cabin in Yosemite National Park. I really enjoyed this experience because there is no electricity and you really get a chance to appreciate nature. One of the things I loved was that you could see so many stars and you could see them in a way that you do not normally see them. We also had s'mores!!! However, we left early the next morning because, being from Texas we are not used to the altitude and oxygen deprivation.
When we got to Los Angeles, California, It was not really what I expected at all. It was really sketchy and unless you were rich or had a lot of money you could not really shop anywhere. The one thing we did that I really enjoyed was the Warner Brothers Studio Tour. I got to see where a lot of my favorite shows and movies were filmed and that was really cool to me.

West Coast Adventure Travel Log: San Francisco, California

I'm Hey guys,
So the next big stop on the West Coast Adventure of 2015 was San Francisco, California! It was by far my favorite city to visit and I have come up with a few reasons why:
  1. It had the feeling of New York City, but it was not as crowded and the people were much nicer
  2. It had a lot of character and all of the houses looked different from one another
  3. There was a lot of art that would look like it was graffiti but it wasn't and I enjoyed that
  4. I found at least two stores that only sold socks and that was like heaven to me. I bought four pairs of socks in San Francisco alone!
  5. I fell in love with Union Square
  6. All in all I want to move there.
One of the coolest things to mention about my experience in San Francisco is Alcatraz. I actually visited Alcatraz on the anniversary of the '62 escape so I was able to take a tour where they specifically talked about the escapes and I thought that was really cool. I was not actually able to see the Golden Gate Bridge while I was there because it was so cloudy but I did walk the bridge.

West Coast Adventure Travel Log: Seattle Washington

Hey people,
So the next stop on my trip was Seattle, Washington and it was pretty cool. Unfortunately because I put off writing the blog, I don't have a million things to say about it but I will fill you guys in as much as I can on the coolest parts of the time I spent there!
The first day was pretty neat because we went to all the really famous and tourist-type places. The first thing we did, and if your smart you would too, is of course go to the original Starbucks! Then we went to the EMP museum which was freaking awesome if you are into music and movies like I am...I saw Star Wars costumes!!! Then we went to lunch at the Space Needle which was really neat because you could see the entirety of the skyline of Seattle. The rest of the day was spent wandering throughout the art of Seattle and the last thing we did that day was ride the great wheel.
Day 2 in Seattle was the more relaxed and wandering day. We took two boat tours, one of which was actually a bus tour that turned into a boat tour!!! We also went to Pike's Place which was cool except for the fact that I was terrified of being pick pocketed. We also went to the aquarium and saw an Octopus!!!! P.S. I love octopi <3 OH!!! And the like grossest, but in my twisted mind, coolest thing was the gum wall!!
The thing I probably loved the most about Seattle was all the art that it had... It made it feel fun and it was so pretty. I am so sorry I got behind but I kind of got caught up in vacation, as I should, but I am catching up now!!!

And I sure would like some sweet company...~ Anna Kendrick

West Coast Adventure Travel Log: Oregon and Redwoods, California

Hey guys,
Oregon was filled with lots of hikes and nature sight seeing. Our hikes included Mt. St. Helen's, Crater Lake, and the coast! It was all very exciting and beautiful...but the best part of Oregon was Astoria. For those of you who don't know, Astoria is the location that the Goonies was filmed. I love the Goonies and was very enthusiastic to discover that I was in Astoria one week after the anniversary of the Goonies. So I got to see the house that the main character lived in, haystack rock, as well as a museum with many props and things from the original movie!

From Oregon, we traveled to the Redwood forest in northern California which was absolutely mind-blowing. It sort of came out of nowhere and the trees were so tall and so big around it blew my mind. That is all for now...next stop San Francisco, California!!!

And I'm leaving tomorrow, what do you say? ~ Anna Kendrick

West Coast Adventure Travel Log: Vancouver, British Columbia

What's up guys,
The past two days I have been in Vancouver, British Columbia and it has been wonderful! One of my favorite ways to spend vacation and discover new places is to just walk around and not necessarily have a plan. And that is exactly what I did.
The first day I spent by just walking around Vancouver and Granville Island. We discovered a lot of really cool shops and just admired a very beautiful city. One of the highlights of the day was dinner. Me and my mother went to dinner at a tapas restaurant called The Sardine Can and it was absolutely fantastic we ate a total of six tapas and that were all delicious.
The next day we spent wandering around Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. It was a gorgeous walking and educational experience about the nature of Canada. Something I realized today was the fact that your appreciation of nature grows with your age. I also got some fudge...and who doesn't love fudge! Another highlight of today was breakfast at Tim Horton's. I love donuts and I cannot get Tim Horton's where I live. In addition Tim Horton's is native to Canada so that was really cool. Now off to Seattle, Washington. See you guys later!

West Coast Adventure Travel Log

Hey weirdos (i switched it up a bit),
As you may or may not know, for the next two weeks i am taking a trip with my mother down the west coaststarting in Vancouver, British Columbia and ending in Los Angeles, California. Unfortunatly, I did not post yesterday, but i will catch you guys up!
A lot of preparation was made for this trip starting with the itinerary. We are going to visit a total of  8 cities including: Vancouver, British Columbia; Seattle, Washington; Portland, Oregon; Medford, Oregon; Eureka, California; San Francisco, California; Yosemite; and Los Angeles, California. We are using literally every type of transportation available from flying in planes to riding ferry boats. So it is bound to be a great trip.
Next on the list of preparation is packing. When I first learned about this trip, I wanted to be somewhat fashionable so I started shopping...and shopping...and shopping some more. And then, it turns out to be cold...and instead of wearing shorts and really cute tank tops, I am wearing jeans and long sleeve shirts. But that is okay because I found a way for it to work. Other than clothing I needed to bring other things because how else am I supposed to blog and keep you guys updated! I ended up packing four essential things that I think are important for everyone who wants to blog a trip: an iPad or laptop ( my laptop is for school and they take it away every summer so I have to blog from my iPad), your phone if that is how you take pictures and notes throughout the day, a camera of some sort ( YOU GUYS I FINALLY GOT A POLAROID CAMERA), and a scrapbook to keep a more personal log of your trip. Obviously I packed some other things to, but those are the most important.
Moving on to what happened yesterday. Not much actually happened, but at the same time I have a lot to talk about. The flight to Vancouver was at 9:00 pm central time and in my mind that meant grab a snack for the plane and then fall asleep for 5 hours. That was almost impossible to do. We did get a smoothie for a snack, but falling asleep on that plane was near impossible. It took us forever to get on out of the terminal and then the plane seats were as far from comfortable as you could get. We did eventually make it and took a cab to our hotel. The hotel beds were 1 million times more comfortable than the plane seats and thanks to the time change we still woke up at a reasonable time.

So that was day 1 posted a day late ( so sorry but you should know how I am) I am also creating a page for this so you can either read as I post day by day or you can go to the page and read in order from beginning to end! That is all for now.., see you weirdos later!

I got my ticket for the long way round! ~Anna Kendrick
